ABOUT US

Dance. Act. Perform. Create.

The SPACE is a Charitable organization that brings the world of the arts to the rural community of Springfield, Manitoba and surrounding area through a variety of art classes including many styles of dance, theatre, visual, literary, music and much more. Our highly trained and certified instructors have a wealth of experience in teaching and performing various styles and disciplines. We have a passion for the arts and for helping others discover their inner artist and performer.

WHAT WE OFFER

Join Our Community

Our Dance Studio offers a large variety of dance classes for all skill levels. Our experienced instructors are passionate about helping each dancer achieve their highest potential, while also having as much fun as possible. Have a look at our class schedule below to find the one that best fits your needs.

We also offer a variety of art classes in styles such as dance, theatre, visual, literary, music, and much more.

Cooks Creek Dance Academy

CCDA offers a variety of dance classes for ages 3 years to adult. Small class sizes enhance the quality of student learning and ensure individual attention. Each year, CCDA students participate in the South Eastern Manitoba Festival in addition to other festivals, workshops, and competitions. The dance season culminates with an Annual Recital where students can show off their dance moves!

Springfield Theatre Company

STC is a semi-professional musical theatre company for youth ages 8+ years (depending on the show chosen for that year). Each year the company produces a musical with auditions being held in late May. Many months of preparation go into the production giving STC students optimal exposure to all 3 components of musical theatre: acting, singing, and dancing.

Outreach Programs

SCPP is flexible and tailored to fit the community's needs including summer day camps, workshops, short program alternatives, drop-in classes, and so much more. It also offers many other forms of performing arts including clowning, puppetry and magic. The SCPP is dedicated to working with the community and community partners to bring the world of performing arts to everyone in a variety of settings.

Land Acknowledgment

Sunrise Performing Arts Centre of Excellence is located on Treaty 1 territory, the original lands of the Cree, Oji-Cree, Anishinaabeg, Dakota and Dene peoples, and the homeland of the Metis Nation. We acknowledge and pay respect to the ancestors and treaties made on these lands, by considering all our cultures, traditions, and the histories of colonialism, dispossession, and resistance as we create and learn together.

It is our intent that Sunrise Performing Arts Centre of Excellence programs and events foster a supportive, non -threatening environment for all people regardless of age, ancestry, colour, gender, gender identity, gender expression, mental or physical disability, religious beliefs or sexual orientation.
