Prairie Fusion Arts & Entertainment (portageartscnetre.ca) located in Portage la Prairie, MB is a vibrant centre for the arts housing a Gallery, Classroom, Pottery Studio, Art Library Gift Shop and Dance Studio.
In 2017 the SPACE began a contracted partnership with Prairie Fusion Arts & Entertainment to oversee the Dance Program. Classes offered include Combination Tap/Ballet ages 3 - 5, Combination Tap/Jazz ages 6 - 7, and single discipline classes for ages 7 & up in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Lyrical ages 11 & up.

Faculty for the 2018/19 PDAC Dance Program
Combo Tap/Jazz and Jazz
Portage la Prairie dancer and instructor Stefanie McKim joins the SPACE Faculty for the Portage and District Arts Centre (PDAC) Program 2018-19 Season. Stefanie is very familiar with PDAC as she began dancing education at PDAC when she was a young child. Upon graduating high school, Stefanie attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. She completed the 2-year diploma program at the college and conservatory of the performing arts with a focus on acting, musicianship and dance.
Preschool, Kinder Ballet, Kinder Combo, Tap and Combo Tap/Ballet
Originating from Portage la Prairie, Maggie is an Honours Graduate of the University of Winnipeg’s Department of Theatre and Film and a former student of the Contemporary School of Dance program (Winnipeg). Along with being a SPACE Faculty member for the Portage and District Arts Centre’s Dance Program Maggie is an Education Assistant at the Portage Collegiate Institute.
Tyrell is thrilled to be returning to Manitoba. Over the past 15 years, Tyrell has built an extensive resume on stage, on film and in the studio. This past year, he was an instructor in North Battleford, SK where his choreography garnered him numerous awards. Tyrell began an extensive theatre career with Rainbow Stage in Winnipeg and those experiences lead him to the opportunity of performing with the Vancouver Opera, Citadel Theatre (Edmonton), Theatre Calgary, Royal MTC (Winnipeg), Theatre Aquarius and Drayton Entertainment (Ontario), and the Charlottetown Festival (PEI). When it comes to the small and big screens, Tyrell can be spotted in the CW’s “Hellcats”, and ABC’s “Once Upon a Time”, Disney’s “Girl VS Monster”, Nickelodeon’s, “Rags” and the Lionsgate film, “Date & Switch”. You can also catch him in music videos for Mariana’s Trench, These Kids Wear Crowns and Elise Estrada. As a dance educator, he is passionate about bringing dance to any and all levels having taught or lead workshops in over 50 studios, community centres and schools across Canada. He is also the Manitoba area coordinator for The Travelling Stage, an arts education program bringing guest artists and programming into child care centres, schools and community centres across the province. Tyrell is excited to bring his knowledge, expertise, passion, and love of dance back to Manitoba.
Musical Theatre, Jazz, Ballet, Springfield Theatre Company Director
Rebekah is a Triple Threat performer and teacher with many years of experience and training. She has performed in local theatres and as a vocalist for Queen Elizabeth II, former Prime Minister Jean Cretien, Adrienne Clarkson, among others. Rebekah is trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Character and Musical Theatre. She has choreographed full-length musicals and most notably won the Paddy Stone Scholarship through the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Professional School's First Steps competition. Rebekah has completed the 3 year Teachers Training Program at the RWB. Rebekah is currently the director for Springfield Theatre Company.
